Wireless Network Usage Policy – [May 10, 2016]
First Chinese Baptist Church, Los Angeles (FCBCLA) is committed to preventing the occurrence of inappropriate, unethical, or unlawful behavior by any user(s) of its computing systems and network. These responsibilities are not only mandated by FCBCLA’s ministry and business interests but by legal and ethical obligations concerning the welfare and privacy of its church members, attenders, ministers (license or non-license), and employees. This “FCBCLA-Guest” Wi-Fi Usage Policy and its enforcement is an important and necessary part of the overall usage strategy.
The WLAN/SSID named “FCBCLA-Guest” network is provided as a free service by FCBCLA. This public wireless network is intended for the limited personal, non-commercial use by visitors and members at First Chinese Baptist Church, Los Angeles.
In providing this “FCBCLA-Guest” network, FCBCLA may restrict access to certain sites considered by FCBCLA to be illegal, malicious or inappropriate, and will terminate your access to this service if you use it in violation of this Agreement, Church policies or Church guidelines. FCBCLA in its sole discretion may revise this Agreement at any time and it is your responsibility to review it for any changes each time.
FCBCLA will exercise some control over the sites you may visit and products you may use while using the “FCBCLA-Guest” network. You use “FCBCLA-Guest” network at your own risk. Wireless access is by nature an insecure medium. As with most public wireless networks, another wireless user could potentially intercept any information being sent or received over FCBCLA wireless connection. Wireless users should not transmit their credit card information, social security number, passwords and any other sensitive personal information while using any wireless connection.
Anyone using the “FCBCLA-Guest” network connection provided by FCBCLA is forewarned that there can be no expectation of privacy. “FCBCLA-Guest” network users assume all associated risks and agree to hold harmless FCBCLA and its employees for any personal information (e.g., credit card, social security number) that is compromised, or for any damage caused to the wireless network user’s hardware or software due to electric surges, security issues or consequences caused by viruses or hacking. All wireless network users should have up-to-date antivirus and anti-malware protection on their personal laptop computers or wireless devices.
You agree that “FCBCLA-Guest” network may not be uninterrupted or error-free; viruses or other harmful applications may be available through “FCBCLA-Guest” network; FCBCLA does not guarantee the security of “FCBCLA-Guest” network; and unauthorized third parties may access your computer or files or monitor your connection. “FCBCLA-Guest” network is provided on an “as is,” “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
By logging in to “FCBCLA-Guest” network, you accept these terms and conditions and agree your access to “FCBCLA-Guest” network is at your own risk and is at the sole discretion of FCBCLA and may be monitored, suspended or terminated at any time for any reason, including but not limited to, violation of Church policies or internet use guidelines, violation of this Agreement, actions by you that may lead to liability for FCBCLA, disruption by you of another’s access to “FCBCLA-Guest” network, actions by you which violate the rights of FCBCLA or of any third party, or actions by you which violate any federal, state or local law.
You also agree not to utilize “FCBCLA-Guest” network in any unauthorized manner to upload or download any copyrighted material, nor to upload or download any pornographic, adult-oriented, hate or spam material, in any format.
