What is worth it? Usually, it is something or someone of great value which requires all of what we have, who we are, and our whole being. In these terms, there is very little we would give our all. In Hebrews, we are going to be challenged to consider how our faith in Jesus and he himself is worth giving everything for. The saints of old had a shadow and copy of the greatness of Jesus and they kept the faith to the end. How much more so should we keep this faith, who have Jesus, the radiance of God’s glory and his exact nature? Jesus is better than our earthly lives, traditions, cities, trials and sufferings. So, why is Jesus—our faith—worth keeping? Let’s find out together.
“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
