First, I praise God for healing me from the flu so that I could attend the prayer conference. A couple of weeks before the prayer conference, there was spiritual warfare. I was attacked while I was sick resting in bed. I saw evil images and felt weak physically. I was so tired of coughing and being home so long. Thank God for His reminder that “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). I was casting the evil one away in the name of Jesus like the mother in the movie “War Room”. I started singing praises to His name. Praise the Lord, there is truly power in the name of Jesus. He ALWAYS wins.
Remember the story Dr. Henderson shared about his colleague sitting with a man on the airplane? His colleague thought that the man was a Christian because he was fasting and praying. But surprisingly, he was a Satanist who was fasting and praying to break up the marriages and families in churches. It shocked me to know that they also fast and pray once a week as Christians do. This story opened my eyes that I need to take fasting and praying more seriously. We are in a battlefield and there is no time to fool around. We’ve got to put on that armor of God and be alert to fight or else the evil one is going to surprise us when we are off guard.
Secondly, God convicted me of my sin of pride. Dr. Henderson said we need to be careful with the subtlety of pride. I do wonder why people don’t come to prayer meeting or pray. I probably do look down at people who are not praying. As Dr. Henderson said, “I’m praying but why aren’t you praying? This pride divides.”
Dear God, please forgive me of my pride because I was once in their shoes. Give me humility and sensitivity and a burden to pray for those who are struggling in praying. They may want to come to pray, but because of special circumstances they are unable to. Thank you for cleansing me with the blood of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I thank God for blessing me and changing my heart. Lord, You are worthy…we are needy.
